KAGERER is a family-owned company from Augsburg and a trusted partner for welding technology, tools and occupational safety for the metalworking industry.

For a customer in the automotive sector, our trading partner was looking for an extraction solution for an existing sanding booth in which metal parts made of aluminum and steel are processed. The booth measures six by seven meters and is used 8 hours a day. Due to the release of explosive aluminum dust and sparks during grinding, the extraction system had to comply with special regulations in the area of explosion protection and occupational safety. The use of water as a filter medium made our wet separator series the ideal solution.

Removing the sanding cabin

The customer’s sanding booth was equipped with 4 supply air nozzles and 8 collection columns for extracting dust particles and a pipe system.

Reliable sanding process

The combustible aluminum dusts can easily be ignited by a spark and lead to dangerous explosions. Wet separators and pipe systems must comply with statutory ATEX regulations to ensure safe operation.

Energy-saving and quiet

To save energy and heating costs, the wet separator is operated with recirculated air. Special splitter silencers ensure a low noise level even at maximum suction power.

Result:

✓ Clean work area

The wet separator filters the dust from the cabin air via 8 collection columns. An additional high-vacuum cleaner makes it easy to clean the floor and surfaces in the cabin.

Compliance with the applicable ATEX and occupational safety regulations ensures safe operation and employee protection.

✓ Custom-made products

At Kagerer’s request, all extraction units were individually painted and branded with the company logo.
