Ratiopharm Ulm is now an integral part of the Basketball Bundesliga and was founded in 2001 by Andreas Oettel and Thomas Stoll. Just five years later, Team Orange was promoted to the first division and got a new home in the Ratiopharm Arena in 2017.

Opening of the OrangeCampus

The offices of ratiopharm ulm and BBU ’01 e. V. will be the first tenants to move into the OrangeCampus in 2020. The campus offers three gymnasiums, fitness center, conference rooms, dining and more. The OrangeCampus is currently the most modern youth and performance center in Europe and the Uuulmer hotbed of talent.

Per Günther – An era comes to an end

One of the strongest German players in the Bundesliga and the figurehead of Ratiopharm Ulm had a decisive influence on the club. Per Günther played 500 Bundesliga games for Ulm for 14 years and became the first player to reach such a large number of games for a single team. He finally retired from competitive sports in 2022. As new captains, Tommy Klepeisz and Robin Christen took the helm and led the young team to the championship title after a difficult start.

Orange Campus talent factory

In summer 2020 BBU ’01 opened the OrangeCampus on the old Donaubad site. Three sports halls, as well as the large and ultra-modern gym OrangeGym, provide perfect conditions for the Uuulmers young talent. The OrangeCampus is unique in Germany and throughout Europe and sets new standards in player development.

2023 – A championship season

The playing squad led by coaching staff Anton Gavel and co-coach Tyron Mccoy recently completed a championship-winning season, securing the first title in the club’s history. With a unique and historic play-off run, they became German champions in 2023.
